Above is the first panel of a new, full color, 8-page comic that I did for
Dark Horse Presents. It just went up today, so please
check it out! This story features my dragon character, which I have used in a number of self-promotional illustrations over the years. So you can finally see him in action!
I'm working on a lot of little illustration projects right now, so hopefully I will have some stuff to post on this blog during the summer. I'm also slowly but surely working on a redesign of my illustration portfolio site. So there is more on the way!

What a merry tale, and it looks crisp and wonderful too.
I've never noticed it before but your style reminds me of Where's Wally (or Waldo in the States, I believe) which is a compliment by the way, I loved those books when I was younger, I had them all, and tried to emulate the slightly wobbly thick line work. I'd love to see your take on a Where's Wally comic.
Thanks Adam! Your comment makes me want to go check out a Where's Waldo book from the library. I never read them as a child, though I recently colored a two-page spread in Aaron Renier's next book which was inspired by them. There were something like 100 characters on just two pages. Mind boggling!
Alec, I read this recently and I really like it. It's cool to see you doing projects like this.
Hey Alec. Found your stuff through Dark Horse Presents. Where can I find more? I want to hear more about RJ and the Dragon! Keep publishing please.
Thanks Danny! I'm writing a bunch more R.J. Jr. stories. One will be in the next volume of Elfworld and the others will begin appearing in my comic Phase 7 as soon as I am done with my current project, Basewood.
