Indie Island T-shirt!

Ack! My first week into this blog and I'm already a day behind. Well, here is a new illustration I recently finished for Heroes Con which I will be attending this summer in North Carolina. This will be one of five(?) shirts that will be printed in very small runs before the show. Others will be drawn by Kaz Strzepek, Laura Park, Jim Mahfood, Jeffrey Brown... I might be forgetting someone else... Anyways, I've seen some of the other designs and they are going to be awesome!
I have never designed a silkscreened T-shirt before, so I asked about a million questions to my good friend Aaron Renier, who really knows his stuff. I guess the T-shirt printer said the files were dead on, so thanks for all the help Aaron!
I'm going to get about 25 of these shirts, so they will probably go on sale over on my website so keep an eye out!

Alec's Animal Alphabet

I've decided I'm going to try and post at least one new illustration every weekend. So check back here on Monday mornings to see my latest work! Hopefully it will just be my latest project, but if I don't HAVE a latest project then I'll draw something new! That ought to keep me busy...
Well, for the first (real) post, I'm going to plug my new alphabet book, which I just finished up at the end of 2007. This was a huge project for me and I'm really pleased with how it turned out! (Now get ready for some links...)

You can see all of the paintings, in my Flickr account. You can also order the book from Lulu.com or order individual prints of any animal you like! There are also a few of the original paintings left for sale if anyone is interested.

I am currently wrapping up a bunch of projects, so there will definitely be some new stuff to share next week. Until then!

Alec Longstreth Illustration Blog

I am currently helping Doug Chayka rebuild his website, and he has been posting his latest work in a blog. This seems like a pretty common trend these days for illustrators, and it is a great way to keep people updated with current projects. You know, one simple RSS feed and suddenly you can see what I'm up to these days!

So after reading this post on DRAWN.ca this morning, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon! It'll probably take me a few days to get this going, but I will start posting new work soon. I'm also going to post images over in my new PRO Flickr account. Busy busy!
